Default Applying or Removing with a Buffer?

Do you use it for applying and removing polish and wax, or just either applying or removing? I am seriously thinking about getting a buffer.

Applying all products but wax. Wax gets applied by hand. All products get buffed by hand.

Default That's a good point, thanks Troy. I'm thinking about the PC 7424.

I like how you have options with different pads and etc. Do you recommend foam for the polish?

Default Try a PC 7424 You'll never go back ..

The PC's are foolproof. For removing compounds/polish's, it's the only way to go. You'll have less work AND better results. There's some excellent information on the properautocare website.

Default If you take care of your car, you should never need a buffer...

Of course, my opinion may differ from others, but I strongly believe that if you care for your car regularly and keep a good protectant (wax or synthetic) on the car, you'll never need a buffer. There is more potential to damage the car with the buffer, especially for the novice.

I have a Pathfinder that I got new in 1993 that is completely swirl-free and the paint looks like it just came off the showroom - glossy and swirl free - and it's never seen the likes of a buffer.

Default Hogwash. There are 1001 things that can harm the finish of a car not under your direct

control, unless you never drive the car out of your own driveway. A ROB like the 7424 not only does better work than what you can do by hand, it also does it faster. And assuming you're not a complete n00b, there's no danger in using the P-C.

Default Agree. Maybe all he's ever done is wash and wax.

Because if you've ever applied a glaze or polish correctly by hand, you know it's a lot of work with the amount of elbow grease it requires. A PC makes it so much easier, and a bit faster too.

Bull$hit. Hand polishing will never acheive the finish of a good buffer.
