Default I need consensus!

I have searched this forum multiple times and I have found lots of great suggestions - just no consistent suggestions. I need your help, maybe votes on what I should do.

I have never done more than wash and wax my car with bath towels. Now, I have a car with fairly nice black paint in good shape and I want to keep it nice. (not the car in my sig).

I am probably not commited enough for a 8-step process, but it is clear to me after my searches that I need to buy a Porter cable, and microfiber towels for this new car. And, I need to learn to polish twice a year. I have read enthusiastic reviews on Klasse, Menzerna, Meguairs, and Zaino to name a few.

But, which is best for a lazy newbie like me? Each of these manufactures makes 500 different formulas with lots of confusing numbers.

I don't have bad water marks or swirl marks, just want to protect my car and make it look nice. Sorry in advance if I am asking the same question as every other newbie every week!

Default Thats one thing we cannot give you!

2 many variables in play to say.... "this is the products you should use)

I will say this though.... your a noob AND lazy, (both fine qualities if I may add, stand proud!!)

Id give you 2 lines to focus on. Klasse and 1z. Phil carries 1z and the line is robust enough to get you through most all situations and easy enough that you dont need a million steps. Klasse is super easy, but limited.

A PC, a few pads the 1z line, MF towels, applicators for the wax and your gold.

Good luck!

Default You'll get peace in the Middle East sooner

Do some reading, do some experimenting, there's no one perfect method or product. That's why there's vanilla and chocolate. Half empty bottles of products that didn't meet YOUR standards make wonderful gifts for less picky friends. I have one buddy who I swear hasn't had to buy anything in years.

Default Sounds good

Who is Phil? Sponsor?

Sounds like a well-respected guy. Do most of you order from him?

Default Yes, Phil@detailersdomain -- he has a lot of starter kits that would be good for you

Customer srevice is great and there are plenty of write-ups on his site. Take a look at his package deals, especially if you are looking to get a Porter cable.

Link to Detailers domain (click here)

Default Any of the top end products are going to do you proper... MF is awesome.

I've recently started using the Menzerna line, and am very fond of it.

As long as you keep care of your car, you'll have no worries.

Good car soap, lots of water, keep the sponges/mits nice and clean.

Clay bar.

Quality polishes and waxes, via PC or by hand. If you paint is new and in good shape, you can keep it up by hand, only when you need lots of correction will you need mechanicals. Or if you're lazy, then mechanicals are great!

Default I think you would like the Adams Polishes + PC kit.

Its very straight forward and comes with a DVD.

I personally went with Menzerna + PC, but I still bought the Adams training DVD.

Detailers Domain is great! Make sure to use 'AW' as your coupon code at checkout.

Default While i've never used it, I've read some 'meh' reviews of the Adams polishes/waxes here...

Although, I have several other of their products and really like them all!

I've never considered Klasse SG "easy" on black. YMMV I guess.
