I am assuming you are going to use it on a painted bumper. If yes then you will be fine. How bad is the scratch?

you will be fine. I would try scratch x and if that does not get them out jump up to Ultimate Compound. I am guessing you are doing it by hand. Dont get to aggressive at first let the product work and apply more pressure as needed.
