Default NEED HELP!!!!

Ok. I just picked up my 2005.5 audi a4 about a month ago and after only a few weeks, I noticed a scratch on the top of the trunk lid. I didn't now how it got there, all I knew was that there was an ugly white scratch ruining my brand new black car. I decided to try to buff it out by hand using turtle wax. It worked pretty well and I though every thing was fine until the next morning I noticed a white haze in the area that I used the wax. I thought at first that maybe I just used too much wax and that maybe after washing the car a few times, the haze might disappear. Unfortunately the haze is still there after about four washes. What can I do to get rid of theis ugly white haze on the trunk of my black car? I hope there's something that can easily be done by a proffessional.

edit: oh yea, the hazy area feels sort of chalky if that means anything.

Default Turtle Wax has an abrasive in it and may have caused the haze. Did you..

apply the wax using something other than a foam pad, say a cotton towel?

Default I only use foam to apply and micro fiber towels to remove wax.

Your cotton rag was most likely not 100% cotton and caused the haze. Do you own a Porter Cable buffer?

Default More likely he simply didn't buff all the wax off. Washing won't remove dried wax. blackb7, have

you tried buffing again using a detailing spray? That'd be my first shot.

Default you're probably right....

i didn't really take the time needed to remove the wax completely. I think the excess wax just dried on the paint. I'm going to take it to a professional instead of trying to fix it myself. Thanks for all of your help. I let you know what happens.

Default Definitely don't need to pay someone to do this...just buy some Meguiars or Mothers

detailing spray at your local mart, mist and buff.
