Default odd request: driving tips for avoiding bug guts?

just curious: does anyone have any particular tips to share as far as keeping the car maximally free of bug guts when driving? (other than avoiding highways?)

as a possible data point: i've noticed that if i shadow a car in the same lane (but at a safe distance to avoid rock chips), i seem to have fewer guts than otherwise -- which sort of makes sense since the guy ahead of me is taking care of them ;-)

Default On the way down to the Burlington g2g...

I had just cleaned the whole car, and driving on 95 and 495, my car was completely covered in guts. Sarah and I stopped at a Mobil in Burlington and had to clean the whole front off before we showed up. Obviously you can't show up to a "show-your-car-off-party" covered on bug guts! Anyways, I never like to drive behind cars, even at a safe distant for the single fact that I am way too paranoid about rock chips. I will take bug guts over rock chips any day.

Default Swerve.

Quickly!

Okay, seriously, if you ever looking at a wind tunnel picture, you'd see air slides right over a car, and eventually get's drawn immediately behind the car. If you're going to use another car as a shield, you're going to have to draft NASCAR style, and surely you'll pick up rock chips as a result.

So...back to swerving quickly. With the right suspension, a good set of tires, and some quick reflexes, well...I wish you luck.

Default Use the finman tip

blue painters tape! Or how about Saran Wrap? One of the car mags once got stuck in sandstorm conditions in Death Valley and they bought low-tack shelf paper for all the leading edges.

Alternatively, Griots now sells a product that helps repel the guts and lets them come off more easily. Or so they say.
