Which order is it?
1. polish
2. glaze
3. wax
right?
properautocare.com says so as well...
"A vehicle should always be polished first, a glaze applied and usually finished with some type of wax or paint sealant (on cured paint)."
But after STFA, I have come across people who do it a different way, for example:
2.7tdallas writes
"New car - GEPC then blitz.
After claybar when paint got on it - GEPC then Blitz
removing marks left by scotch tape on trunk - IHG then GEPC then Blitz.
Twice a year major back breaking, sweat inducing MFing detail Claybar then UHG then GEPC then Blitz"
Which is the correct way, and why? TIA detail gurus.
This all assumes you are working by hand. Apparently GEPC is more effective when used with a Porter Cable.
Second, this is a little like cooking. Olive oil, butter, corn oil, margarine. What's the difference? Which should I use? For what? In between Clay bar and wax it gets hazy and personal opinion and taste may cloud things. So we come here and talk about it.
Third, for your car probably .....
Wash
Clay
<b><Hazy On>
3M SWR or Menzerma Intensive (depends on paint condition if you need it)
3M IHG or Menzerma Final (Menzerma may be the new sweetheart around here since it doesn't have any fillers like 3MIHG.)
GPEC if you want.
<Hazy Off></b>
Wax with 1 Grand Blitz or P21S or both.
It will come out pretty. Make your own recipe, play around, skip steps, add detailing spay, experiment. Post your favorite recipes. As you can tell I don't cook with Meguiar's or Zaino, some people here do.
