Paint comes off on polishing cloth! (Not Audi)
A friend has a 5 year old Miata that he keeps in very good condition (summer car only, always garaged, low mileage, etc). Since owning the car, he has regularly hand washed it with commercial products and on occasion used Turtle Wax.
I recently talked him into doing a detailing session with Klasse AIO and Sealant and he just called me to say that the AIO actually caused the polishing cloth to turn red (the color of his car)!
I have been an avid detailer of my cars (audi, VW, Mazda, Volvo, Toyota) for over 20 years and have been using Klasse for the past 12 years without ever having this happen.
I'm thinking that his clearcoat is shot. How else would paint come in direct contact with the cloth? He is now worried that he is doing damage to the paint with the polish. Any thoughts?

No clear coat. Not really an issue as long as you don't go too deep
It is pretty common for red cars to ship without a clear coat. It really isn't a big deal except for the paint you will find on your towels. The AIO was removing oxidized paint, which is a good thing.

its not that the clearcoat is shot... it was never there to begin with!
mazda did not clearcoat the red miatas, same goes for the black ones and who knows which other colors. there are still a few cars out there that arnt clearcoated from the factory!
