Re: tell this to people on east cost (NL, PEI and NB) remeber, 90cm of snow
that is different story, you choosing the car based on your needs not based what everyone is buying correct or No? ,
as what happen east now you will see increasing sells in SUV and 4x4 in that area for next the next year, but I doubt it, remember we had the same storm couple years ago , and did Audi increase it sells with quattro models, they stayed the same.. Look at Europe, 95% of Audi purchase is FWD

Not as big as the idiots with RWD and all season tires.
The week we had a killer snow storm, the ONLY cars I saw stuck were RWD, some with winter tires.
FWD with all seasons seemed to be doing fine.

i want to thank those who stood up for me!

Would have loved to get quattro, but seeing how I didn't have the extra 10k to put into buing one A4 Avant fwd was the nicest car out there. Was considering Subaru Forester but for same money, no class! I am a former Jeep YJ owner and let me tell you about AWD. In toronto, you don't need it! I see a sh!@#$t load of SUV drivers who think because they have AWD they can drive faster thank anyone else. Quick lesson hot shot, those trucks weigh a ton and are harder to stop! As for my new A4, drove it in the snow and we had our fair share of it this year, handled pretty nicely. See picture.
Thanks for making me feel like one of the gang. Love this forum, uh and my A4.

in line with yours, some peaple call us all idiots for getting Audi or VW, or better:
How stupid could you be to pay 60k for car that is so small & seats Two. i mean TT.
so all the TT guys idiots quatro or not?
i personaly think any body that does not have a car like mine is an idiot LOL.(last 1 was a joke)

If you got money burning a hole in your pocket quattro is nice but not necessary. In my books,
you can't criticize someone who chooses to use his money to pay down mortgage/debts.

$10K for quattro?!
When I bought my car in 1999 the quattro option was only about $2-3K, IIRC. Perhaps someone will correct me, but I *know* it wasn't an extra $10K.
Frankly, what sold me on the A4 was one very hard test-drive in a quattro car in dry conditions. I've always had FWD cars and they perform fine in all types of weather, but if you think that quattro is just for snow storms, you'd be wrong.
After five years of owning my car, quattro is one of the things I love best about my A4. I don't think you're an idiot for not getting it, but you are certainly missing out.

ok, say that you can't afford quattro, that's fine. but dont say that it's not really useful
and especially dont compare it to a 4x4, which is totally different. that just makes you look ignorant.
