Kind of hard to speculate not having been there. Old Jim wasn't pushing it like Ian, as Davey notes,
but he was far from taking it easy.
165 rough mph in anything is far from not pushing it.
That being said, Ian or Randy would have likely outrun Jim or Davey in the CGT, had the pros been driving the R32.

Are we all losing sight of something? I'm just a rank amateur with nowhere near the talent of Ian
or Randy or Craig or Mark or any of those guys. The same holds true of Jim. We've said it a thousand times, "<fill in the name of your favorite pro here> can get an easy 20 seconds out of your own car". (Whatever track that would be.)
Considering the abilities of that car I was please as hell to be able to hang with him. Does that mean I'm some sort of professional? No. Does that mean I'm cocky? No. Does that mean I'll never admit to getting my *** handed to me? No. Was some of it luck? Of course.
Now I'm going to be forced to go get the 565 HP kit!

Just talking about top end on the banking. 600 plus HP great aerodynamics well over 200 MPH top speed versus what, 400 hp shaped like a shoe box?
