2021 SQ8 help
I was suspicious of an issue once getting my new (to me) Audi home. I made an apmnt with my trusted import auto shop once home for a full inspection. I live 232 miles from the closest Audi delalership. I owned a super charged Range Rover sport before the Audi knowing my distance for recalls, major repairs etc. Something carefully considered purchasing imports living in Northwest Montana.
upon initial inspection at my local shop they found a major oil leak upon multiple other problems.
I called Audi Corporate with these findings asking the protocol, then upon their suggestion I made an apmnt with an Audi dealership and have since consistently gone to the same dealership for
All of my repairs. with all of that said, i have had these issues and have done these repairs;
#1: oil cooler/oil filter housing leaking oil. Removed turbos and cats to gain access to the oil filter housing and oil cooler. Resealed oil filter and housing. Cleaned engine of oil, inspection for oil leaks.Over 4k in repairs.
#2: after a bore scope, found oil coming from plate/cooler connection due to a cracked weld in the oil cooler They replaced the oil cooler, and filter housing, along with gaskets as well as cleaned engine. Over 6k in repairs.
#3: the hatch malfunctioned upon closing. I reset the settings for “full hatch full open access” and even then it would not function without having to manually help it to close. Mind you, it had been working perfectly for months prior. I ended up replacing both struts. Taking it to a body shop, the findings were that one strut was completely shot and the other was “working overtime for the other” and completely threw off my hatch causing it to rub on one side of my vehicle. Over 2k
#4: one month ago i took it back in for suspected oil leaks still and for a recall on the virtual cockpit malfunction.
after several hours of inspection the mechanic found that there’s still an oil leak, but could not find the source and contacted Audi Tech @Corporate stating my situation and all repairs. They now want to disassemble the entire front end of my car to try and find the Source of the leak. 1st they will pull the galley plugs thinking that’s the problem, but obviously will not know until they’re in. Apparently they have never seen this issue with the model of my car. 3k comped as they want to know why.
#5: Sunday evening June 8th, 76 miles from home the vehicle coded multiple things until the battery light flashed yellow to red, lost steering, power, and after barely making it to the side of the road the car completely died.its currently on a flat bed sunroof and windows open, awaiting transport to Audi …no end in site other than a match and gasoline!
I have been in contact with Audi corporate and the dealership with all of these things and yet no definitive answers.
Any suggestions/advice is much appreciated!
