98-04 A6 dash IS IT THE SAME???

I just bought 2002 A6 which needs new dash and air bags. US Audi dealer is telling me that dash from 98 and up will not fit, only from 02 to 04 is the same. Dealer in Europe is telling me that from 97 to 04 they all the same?????
Any body try that???

Nope..not for models...they have the same as us..just a couple of months earlier than us.
