I remember the good ol' days here...when B5 wasn't a bunch of idiots beating eachother with sticks (as it mostly was when i departed), when B5S4 was BLEEDING EDGE (later to become idiots beating eachother with sticks). unfortunately over the years, with the introduction of new models, and consequently new forums, new owners failed to follow suit in their predecessors desire for technical aptitude related to that of their machines. I truly miss the fanaticism of 1.8t and b5s4 owners when those machines were stand-out performance and technology, capable of being unlocked into greater engineering marvels.

The "demise" of Audiworld in my eyes is not due to the forum trolls, claiming to **** my gf/mom/pet/etc, nor due to the takeover by Internet Brands and color change to a fecal color scheme....but is due to the loss of fervor with which Audi owners used to have for ownership of the brand, technology, and community. Be it positive or negative, there will always be a current or former B5S4 owner that will attest to the greatness of his machine....no matter how many days a month it spends in the shop being repaired. That is what I miss most.

I know there are still those owners on Audiworld, but you are the minority and I cannot convey to those that maintain/oversee this place the sadness I have for the neglect you have for the core values upon which this place was built.

I think I shed a tear.

 

as soon as people thought they could make money, things went to ****. now everthing is a secret.

 

we spent our own money to create sites to share.. Now some dork figures out a way to fix something, and instead of SHARING that information, they withhold information, and try to make a business out of it, which is fine, but it's totally against everything that AudiWorld is built on.
