since you locked my FS petition post, I'm making this a new thread, but not to start an arguement...just to make a point. I think it's clear from the response that 90% of the people DO want to wade through FS posts. That was exactly the point of that thread. If it's really the users convenience that is the concern...why not post an official poll and find out? I think it's safe to say that alot of AWers think this is important, so I hope you don't think I'm just beating a dead horse here. I look forward to a better classified section, but i still think FS posts add to the forums, as do alot of my fellows on here.

actually, people who voted probably do NOT make up 90% of forum users, BUT
they are the most vocal ones AND they are the ones posting their experiences and helping others, i.e. keep these forums interesting and useful.
Users who just browse the site do not make AW better. If all of us just lurked evry now and then, what would we read on the forums?
So when making a decision perhaps the results should be skewed towards the actively participating public rather than basic readership

Yes, the posters should have more say than just the readers...
but I think either way you look it it, it was a pretty solid turnout on that petition, so it's hard to say that there's thousands of anti-FS post people out there who just decide to keep quiet. But, this is why I suggested an official AW poll. I don't think we'll see it, because it seems AW has already made a decision on this issue, and is not budging. But hey, I still like AW, I don't want to get on a bashing kick.

however I think it's safe to say that if 90% of the people didn't want FS posts, we would not have seen the almost unanimous outpouring we did. Are you saying you DON'T want FS posts?

Many already know the <a href="https://www.audiworld.com/copyright/">Terms of Use</a> and how it is being applied. No need to state an opinion in that case. As for my opinion, see <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/feedback/msgs/11487.phtml">my opinion from yesterday</a>. Also, I know there's issues with the <a href="https://www.audiworld.com/marketplace/">classifieds</a>, but they are working on improving it. I don't see why if someone were looking to buy something, they wouldn't look there first.

In the meantime...
it would be nice if we were allowed to post ON TOPIC for sale ads in the forums. Nobody reads the classifieds and I've got an extra set of wheels and tires in my garage that my landlord isn't appreciating too much. :-/

Seriously, if people don't read the classifieds, it seems to me that they aren't interested in buying anything.
There's only two arguments for FS posts in the forums:
1) The classifieds suck to read
2) Some people buy out of convenience, not out of need
If it's 1, I think the new classifieds were working on will make everyone happier.
If it's 2, it's unfortunate. The forums aren't for everything.
