Misc Forum Pulverization
I'm an old timer IS and people not liking new things is a fact of life for me too.
However, the way I see the new diversified old model forums will create some problems.
1. There is not enough traffic on the various models.
2. People will have to check several forums out and/or cross post a lot to get an answer.
3. Some people that used to own an old model, but have now a 2001 S4 might check MISC Forum, but not the 4000, 90, 100, etc...
I give you an example.
There is a guy out there (Miktip) that has a deep knowledge about old Audi's. He has been a source of help for me and several other people. He does not have the model I'm restoring (Coupe GT) anymore, but he had, so he kindly answered my questions several times.
He might or might not check the GT forum, taking his knowledge elsewhere.
I would like to suggest a solution.
A Mechanic Shop forum, where we could post any internals freely, without being model specific. It would be like the motorsport that covers: autox, track, rally, etc.
If one needs to know what interior colors the 100's had in 1990, or what the sport package Audi had in 1994 for another model, then this person would post on the 100's forum.
Thanks,
TS
