Ok, i'm not trying to start trouble here, but i think some of the percieved "arbitraryness" of moderation in thse S4 forum needs to be adressed. I posted a question to Dr. Leases about what happened to his website because i needed to get several S4 pictures off of it and wanted to see his videos of the Audi drives. Yes, i admit it was marginally (key marginally) off-topic. This post was moderated. Subsequently it has been deleted after i asked for it to be.

I have absolutely nothing against NASA Racer. i have enjoyed his knowledge and have found him to be a very friendly and insightful person. HOWEVER, his post had NOTHING to do with the S4 or Audis in general. If you read that post, it deals with his Civic beating M3's. This post would be fine in my eyes had it been in the off-topic forum or the racing and performance forum. however, it was not "on-topic" for the Audi S4 forum. This post was NOT moderated.

While this is really no big deal in my book, i can see why people like dr. leases are getting upset about moderation. Moderation seems to be political and completely arbitrary. I agree that it is the moderator's choice about what to censor, but there should be a clear standard that each member of the forum knows. More importantly, it should be applied evenly.

and follow the general rule "If it's not related to the topic of the forum, it's moderated, or in extreme cases, deleted".

Your message was moderated becuase it was a private conversation between you and someone else that could easily be handled in email. Please you email in the future.

NASA Racer's post has been moderated now as well.

 

There is more than one moderator. We all do our best and try to be consistent. Nobody is singled out, I can guaranty that, unless they are abusing the Terms of Use.
