Well, the only new Alfa sold in the US is the 8C, at around $200K and change. And at the time when we got the horses, the 8C were (celebrity) waiting list only and were still commanding a premium over MSRP. But what we really wanted were cars like the 147 GTA and 156 GTA. Inlaws own those cars overseas, and we always have a ball driving them. When we reluctantly test drove an F355 (not wanting the baggage of the badge), it felt like an Alfa distilled down to the purest elements. So we cringed and took the plunge. It was almost a year before I told the folks here on AW.
I'd gladly give up one of the horses for an Alfa ES30 SZ. But even a front driver like the 156 can be made to over-steer.
