Am I missing something? Format seems the same to me,...
...unless you've been gone for a very, very long time! :-)
Regardless, some people just open up in a new window. THis removes the side menu, and then you should be able to see everything. I run at 1024x768 resolution, so I see everything, but those using laptops or smaller monitors may prefer the new window method.

Very simple solution...
Open the main content frame into a new window. To do this, right click on the main content frame (or click and hold if your on a Mac) then selelect "Open frame in new window", this will open the forum itself in a new window and you will loose the left and top navigation. If you like, book mark that frame then you'll never have to see navigation. Of course, then you can't navigate into the rest of the site then.
