Default FYI, AAA will not tow vehicles with modified suspensions.

AAA went out and spent $94 million on new trucks and they will not tow cars with modified suspensions.

Default Does that really make any sense ?

Let's say I have a Ferrari and a sedan with a lowered suspension, but it's still not as low as the Ferrari...

What is the difference?

Default And they are going to know this how?

Just by saying your car looks lower and refusing? Or they going to shine a flashlight in there and look for stuff that doesn't "look" stock?

Sounds more like a bunch of talk with no real way to enforce it

Default They have been saying that for years, I'd know, I towed for AAA.

Glad my car isn't as slammed as yours. :-)

Default I wonder if it says something in the terms of service? What specifcally?

I can see if they might require some specific clearances...but how can they reject a suspension out of hand just because it's modified. There must be something in the terms of service...

Wonder if they'd reject towing my Touareg because it is a "modifiable" suspension. In other words, I can adjust my air suspension settings on command. I guess they might require me to "lock" the suspension - like I do when I go in for alignments or tire service.

A few months ago I replaced both the front and rear sway bars...hopefully the Tow Truck Technician (TTT) won't spot that suspension modification.

Default I was told when I <almost> wrecked my car that they couldn't promise there

would be no damage, but the driver was <i>very</i> careful and didn't do anything without conferring with me.

Of course this is anecdotal... but I doubt many drivers are going to be following that kind of policy too strictly.

AAA has its own fleet? I thought they just contracted out to local companies.

If the driver has a real issue, they will have you sign a waiver. AAA has their own trucks now also.
