Warning and question
First the warning - In the process of installing my gauge, had to cut the vacuum line that attaches to the front of the intake manifold. After I cut it, I pulled the short end closest to me out from under the manifold to install the 'T' fitting and as I did that the hose cracked and fell off the manifold. The part of the line that had the nipple inside it was dry rotted and cracked really bad. My car is almost 2 years old, so needless to say I was a little bothered by that. So with that being said -
** WARNING** Check your vacuum lines for heat damage.
Now for the question. Would it be better to use silicone lines instead? Luckily I bought 10' of high temp line for the gauge from McMaster Carr so it wasn't a problem. However, I'd like to replace all the lines with something else.
