Winter Driving
Well- I'm moving back to Ithaca, NY where it snows from October to April. I've never had a car in the winter up there. Do I really need snow tires with Quattro? What do I need to think about doing in order to be prepared for the snow?

Most people like to run snow tires in the winter...
because they have a different set of rims and tires for the summer. Normally their summer tires are a softer tire with more grip to the road (surface wise, but a winter tire as less surface area and a lot more tread within the tire. Plus they use different rims because they don't want to mess up their nice aftermarket wheels.

2 tires w/o traction or 4 tires w/o traction, it don't matter
high performance/summer tires have absolutely zero traction in the snow, so if you were FWD or RWD youd just be spinnin two tires but with quattro, you can now spin all four. in the snow
