1985 5000S
I am having hesitation problems with my 85 5000S with 140,000miles. Several weeks ago, I had a new fuel pump installed, a complete tune-up, etc. Upon starting my car, it still runs a little rough until it warms up and upon accelerating it hesitates until i reach 15-20mph, them it evens out and runs very smooth. Does anybody have any ideas of what it could be? Also, my sunroof is stuck in the closed position, it makes a grinding sound when I try to open it, cant seem to figure out how to get access to the motor to locate the problem. Thanks for your help.

To get to sunroof motor...
Pop a flat head, or flat prying device into dome light assembly edge, and pop it out. Make sure that light is off, (best to disconnect battery to begin with, anyway) then look up towards the roof in the hole where the light was, you'll see a phillips screw holding the panel to the interior. Take that out and the switches, panel, and light dangle down. On the inside of the panel there is an Allen wrench made for cranking the sunroof motor manually. There is a gear towards the rear of the motor where you insert it and start cranking. I would say if you hear the motor grinding, get a new one. If the grinding comes from roof still, there are some internal complications with the track/guides. Let me know what you find!

Marty thanks for the info. I finally got access to the motor, inserted the crank handle and I't won't even turn, its frozen up or something. The reason Im wanting to get the sunroof open is because Im going to have a new headliner installed and with the sunroof acting up its almost impossible to do.
