1985 5000S cold start problem
My '85 5000S starts,idles and runs fine for the first 2 minutes, then seems to lose power and bog when the accelerator is depressed. This condition lasts for another 3-5 minutes, with the power coming back to normal seconds after the heater blower turns on. The car was recently tuned-up with plugs, wires, cap, rotor and filters. It seems to me that it is running too lean during this low power period. If the car is brought up to operating temperature and turned off for 20-30 minutes, it immediately starts up in the low power mode, recovering in the 3-5 minutes. The ambient temperature is about 30°F. I know that there are numerous temperature switches and sensors in the car, but don't know which one would cause this problem. Any suggestons will be appreciated.

I had similar problems with my car. I replaced a faulty Differntial Pressure Regulator and all was well. Car would start fine and idle okay, would even take off out of the driveway fine at low speeds, but as soon as I depressed the the accelerator. Nothing. Just sputtered. Then all of a sudden BAM...she would take off and run fine untill the next time I turned her off. Of course it took awhile to diagnose the problem and I replaced all five fuel injectors first. So I'm sure that helped in the long run too. Not saying this is your problem, just something you may want to consider...
