If you read the description for the forums, the A6 forum is for '98 and newer. That makes sense because the '96 A6 has more in common with a 100 or 5000. That's cool with me, because I have a '96 A6Q and I prefer this forum. All they do over there is p*** and moan about how long they have to wait for their cars and why doesn't the gas gauge work.

Male answer syndrome
Because I am aware of my tendency towards male answer syndrome (have to answer questions whether knowledgeable or not) I try not to answer questions unless I truly know the answer.
I don't understand the question. I have a '96 A6Q with a factory keyless remote. I think, but do not know for sure, that the dealership can give you one or give you a replacement key unit.
