Default 4000 CSQ tail light panel HELP!

I just bought a 87 4000 CSq, and the light/reflector panel on the trunk lid is broken.

I bought another trunk lid from a junkyard for $50, & the lock had been pried out. If it wasn't so badly damaged, I'd have just swapped lids.

I can't seem to find more than a couple of nuts or screws that hold the lights onto the lid - I think it's glued on.

What is the best way to get the light/relector panel off the lid without destroying it?

After you loosen all the bolts holding it on you have to carefully pry it off...very carefully/very slowly. Use a butterknife to cut/pry/scrape behind the lights. There is a sealant/goop under there that is used to keep water out...it's a real pain in the a$$. That goop is like superglue!

To practice, go to a junkyard and find any Audi with some tailights(side or middle light panel)and work on your technique there...

Also I have had a friend that used a blowdryer to heat up the goo as he removed the lights...I've never tried that personally...HTH.
