5K odometer fix

I'm tempted to fix the odometer on my '87 5K. Has anyone else attempted to do this? My speedometer works fine so I assume my odometer is fed from a seperate cable or is digitally controlled (unlikely). It's times like this I wish I had a Bentley manual.<p>'87 5KS

What is it exactly that you're trying to fix?

I had mine out the past two weekends working on it, and finally got it working again (w/o Bentley)... it was stopped. Let me guess... did yours stop near the 99 or 100 mark?

Thanks Marty. Mine stopped at the 130 mark. TomS e-mailed me and advised me to take it to a speedometer shop. Thanks Tom. I might try to do it myself though.<p>Les Philip

If it's anything like my 4000, There was a little gear at the end of the shaft that goes through the numbers that had to be glued to the shaft. The shaft was just turning inside of the gear
