94 90CS - which shocks?

94 90CS - which shocks?

The ride on my 94 90CS has been terrible lately. One mechanic suggested KYB shocks as a replacement. Should I go with those or look at Koni or Bilstein?

Any help is appreciated.

My understanding: you get what you pay for. I believe the KYB is an OE-equivalent shock. KONI & Bilstein are more premium shocks.

Might recommend either Bilstein or KONI; what's the price differential vs. KYB?

All the shops I've talked to recommend the Bilstein...

...shocks for the Audi's, because they are quite tight. Bilstein would be my personal choice, and then Koni. KYB's are fine, but are a more ordinary (for lack of a better word) gas shock. With all that it will cost to have them installed, you may as well do it right the first time! :-)
