As I wait for delivery on a new A6, I would certainly appreciate any comments!!<p>--------------------------------<br>I've been using my A6 now for a little over a month. I find the heating a<br>bit bizarre. First, if I turn OFF the Automatic button, and set the fan<br>control by hand, as the car heats up, the fan speed changes anyway! At<br>first I thought it was me misreading the Fan "bars", but I caught it doing<br>this yesterday for sure! It seems very bizarre that the system would<br>change the settings when I turn off Automatic - have others noticed this<br>too (my automatic control lights, then turns off, when I push the button<br>twice, so its not a bad automatic button.)<p>Secondly, I have a beef with the Automatic heating. I have mine set to 75<br>degrees F. When the car starts heating up (after a few miles driving), the<br>fan increases and I get nice and toasty. When the cabin finally heats up,<br>and the fan starts backing down, my feet get cold air, or at least cooler<br>air, than they were getting - the result is I start feeling cold. I<br>imagine that the computer is measuring air temp, and finally decides the<br>cabin is at the right temperature, so it fools around with the inlet<br>temperature to maintain constant temperature based on one of the sensors.<br>However I am often driving on sunny days so the dash sensor may read a bit<br>high.<p>I've been playing around turning off vents and trying to just send air<br>down, but I haven't hit the right mix yet. Have the same problem with my 97 A6Q (nt)

 

Two thoughts. I wonder if the fan speed change is only when it is first turned on and the speed comes up when there is some heat to blow like in auto mode. (ie this isn't really completely manual system no matter what, but is smart in a few instances??) Second, my reaction to 75 degree setting and still feeling cold is, "wow, I set the heat between 66 and 70, and never feel cold" People sure are different.<br>
