Anyone here ever had to replace the...

stupid "aspirator" motor for the interior temp sensor? Mines starting to squeal and is getting annoying. From everything I've read and seen on the internet it looks like I may have to remove the dash to get at it. What a stupid design. Anyways I went to the junkyard and tried to get at one there by removing the front facia plate and the glove box. I still cannot get at it that way. Anyone have any better ideas or BTDT? The Bentley manual is not helpful at all...

For my 97 A6 you remove the instrument cluster which does...

extend to the center of the dash.

How how about getting radical and making a new acess hole with Mr. Sawzall? Cover the hole with an extra ventalation grill?

Poke a straw down the dash hole and jam the fan blades?

Go to Miktip's house. I think he pulls dashs for kicks on Saturdays.

Pull the dash out and leave it out? What's it do besides cover up all the stuff you need to get to?

If you had an 89-91, the dash top comes off easy. Yours however is not! Sorry! I think I once ran a new hose from the intake piece to a remote located motor, and just left the old motor in place. Still involves removing the glovebox, and a few skinned knuckles and a plethora of swear words, but if memory serves me, it can be done.
