Audi 100 warm start problem
I've read through the all the audi 100 postings and didn't find anything relating to warm start problems. My Audi starts just fine in warm or cold weather, but after driving for even a short while, stopping and restarting causes the engine to almost die, gain some momentum, then almost die, gain some momentum,.... you get the picture. This happens about 5 or 6 times then something kicks in and it runs fine.. Any suggestions??<p>T. Henry

I've never worked on that injection system...
so I can't help with specifics, the injectors and check valve could be a problem, but I think they would be more of an issue on cold start, after the fuel system has had a chance to leak down. I have had strange start and idle problems caused by leaks in the crankcase vent lines (they run from the base of the block at the rear to the top of the engine, though a check valve, to the intake), and I think the 89 still used the leak prone rubber hoses.
