Bach-up light switch RANT

Just got the estimate on replacing back-up light switch on 94 100S....$223 for part, $155 labor. A classic case of German over-engineering!!! Part is wicked expensive and it's really difficult to get to, hence the high labor cost!!!

Any other such examples???

Believe V-6's had classical, cheap (relatively) vacuum reservoir.
