Coolant Problem
About 3 weeks ago the heater hose broke on my 84 Audi 5000, so I had to get it fixed. Since that time I have had to top off my overflow tank 2 times because my warning light is coming on. I know that this is a closed system and difficult to get enough coolant into the system through the overflow tank, but how many times does it take? I am not seeing any evidence of a water leak on my driveway and no water on the front floorboards. What should I do, just keep filling the tank or look for another problem?

You are making sure you don't overfill the coolant, right? Fill it to minimum when the coolant is cold.
The coolant could be accumulating somewhere under your hood, but not on the driveway. Check under the replaced heater hose, if I remember right, the fluid might accumulate in the chamber in front of the firewall (has the A/C, heater unit (and the infamous blower motor). You have to pop off that plasic cover (at least on my 85 5ks).

Isn't there a vent valve in the coolant system?
My mind might be going, but I thought I remember one on my old '90 Coupe Quattro, up at highest point of (I think) heater hose before the firewall. Had to open it till coolant poured out while engine was running.
