Electrical drain
I then removed the 'other' two wires that lead to the fuse/relay panel. I could not find anything abnormal. However, when I put it all back together....it worked....for 2 weeks. Once again it is draining the battery at about 15 to 20 amps. There is no motor running, I have removed the stereo, and I dont hear humming. It would seem that 15 amps would weld a short together, so I dont know why it would be intermittent.
I am curious as to how the "over voltage relay" works? Could it be stuck open and draining off power? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Khris
But as far as the current leak, 15 amps really isnt all that much. you could weld something with that if it were small. but any reasonable 12V switch can handle that- a headlight or blower motor could use around that amount.
Your problem is to locate the intermittent current leak. By process of elimination, tediously disconnect one thing after another, remove fuses, etc, until you locate the current drain. Could be as innocent as a cig. lighter stuck on.
You can find it, good luck
On a happy note, I also fixed the ABS.....it was the fuse on the relay in the kick panel
