Help with changing pads, please!
Puuuuhleaze.....
Someone tell me how to get the piston backed up into the cylinder so
I can swing the calipers down and finish this install!
I installed the new discs and pads, but the piston is preventing me from
finishing. The picture in the bentley shows a special tool, but there
has got to be another way.
I really need your (everybody's) help!
It's an 86 CGT, email if you need more info!!

C-clamp or 2x4
You can squeeze it back in with a C-clamp, or pry it back in with the end of a 2x4. Be careful and don't get it askew. The rears are a completely different issue, but I think the CGT has rear drums. Also, don't put any load on the flex line while you are doing this. Don't even let the caliper hang from it.
There is also a cheap tool that will push them back in, not Audi specific.

Covered many times; check the archives
I purchased a special tool which both turns and compresses the piston. Have used this prob. about 4 times between A4 and old Coupe Quattro. Check the archives within the past 2 months; try a search for "brake" and "piston".
Key thing is pushing in HARD and turning at same time.
