How to clear DTC codes?

How to clear DTC codes?
So car is ´93 90 and I did screw up causing error codes long time ago. Now I got sometimes check engine light going on. I can read codes but because my mistake can't find out which code is current problem. I checked 12.org pages and connected left side pins as told, but can't get codes cleared. So is there sertain step when these clear connectors should be connected? Or what I'm doing wrong?

Sorry miktip, I wasn't wery clear what I tried to ask. Ye, I've looked 12v.org pages. What I ment wast that should I clear codes right after gettinq 4444 code or in some other step? Or should I get codes cleared when ever I connect those 2 left-hand pins? Still no success to clear codes.

I think that you are right. So I caused some codes misshandling connectors some time ago. And didn't clear memory then. So now while driving engine check light comes on sometimes and goes off again after some time. What I'm trying to do is figure out what causes that. but never tought of that maybe that failure hits while I'm reading or trying to clear data and that's why there is allways failure code(s).

Engine running, connect for 4 seconds,disconnect, DTCs will blink, connect 4 seconds, disconnect,mor
then 4444 (no codes set), connect for 4 seconds, disconnect, shut engine off. The old DTCs should be clear now. This is the procedure as I remember it.
