idle problem

Default idle problem

Hello to you all
I have audi coupe 2000cc,year 1990.
I have some problems with my coupe...but the worst is when I activate some heavy electric consumers (fan or fog light+lights )the idle is felling from 1100 to about 800 rpm.
I checked my battery, injection system(k-jetronik),vacuum links, timing, ignition...
Please send me your advises

Default Clean your ISV(Idle Stabilization Valve).

Normally requires removal and spraying it out with brake parts cleaner or carbarator cleaner.

It's a k-jetronic injection system, its mechanical...it do not have an ISV

Default I'm sorry, on the Bosch "K-jet" system its called an Auxillary Air Valve.

Default Except that it can't be cleaned.

It's really not an 'idle stabiliser', per se, it's part of the warmup system, it allows extra air in to balance the mixture when cold, and as it warms up, the bimetal spring inside it expands, closing the airway and thus taking it out of the loop. So, if functioning properly, it shouldn't have any effect whatsoever on the idle of the car.

So this 'valve' if defective, would only affect the first few seconds/minutes of start-up, correct?

Default Evil is correct, part of the warm up system. Does it get gunked up and clogged?

I can't remember. I thought it was a replace if it doesn't work only. Seems like mine was always clean.

Default I think that would depend on how it got stuck or malfunctioned.

I think the typical failure would be the car would warm up fine and then get screwy. I think the valve was normally closed. When you started the car a bi-metallic strip is heated, which causes it to bend and close the valve, or vice versa.

Default Hmm... cuz my 12v would stall upon start up, but once you give it some throttle for a few secs...

it'll be alright and idle fine... strange. would that valve thing cause my condition? or rather... my car's condition?
