Idle Problems (long)
I have a '92 Audi 80, and I am having this recurring problem with the the idle speed. The car routinley idles around 4,500 rpm after I have been driving for a while. Starts up fine, idles just below 1,000 rpm, but after a bit of highway driving, the engine is screaming when I put it into neutral or park. I have checked the T.P.S and the idle control valve, along with the cruise control linkage. All appear fine. I have removed and cleaned the ICV so many times that I think I am going to go insane. Should I be checking something else? Is it possible that the ECU is on the fritz? Also, what is the name of the fuel injection system on these cars? I am used to EFI.
Thanks for any input,
Dustin
