looking for a wagon

hi everyonei'm new to the audi scene, and i'm looking for a '92 to '95 quattro wagon. when looking in the various classifieds on the web, how does one determine if the car is a wagon by the model of vehicle? ie. 100, 100S, 100CS etc. it seems that i randomly find a wagon, but there's no way to know without a pic of the vehicleany info is much appreciatedJG 1990 Saab 900T

if it doesn't say "Avant" or Wagon", it likely ain't. They're relatively rare

i like the looks of the 92 100 over the 91 100 but i'm concerned with any problems with specific years, ie right after a model change. is there anything to look out for? hows the reliability factor with the 200 TQ?TIAJG 1990 Saab 900T

Would recommend getting the newest model you can afford & find. When I had my '90 Coupe Quattro (built in mid-'89), I know they made a number of running changes during model year and into '91 year (changed FI, ABS brake sensors, hydraulic brake boost, steering column switches - justones I can immediately remember). I always had to have my serial number round when ordering parts. I would suspect Audi did same with other models.'91 to '92 changes I suspect was largely cosmetic; I am not aware of major drivetrain changes (don't know when they started offering wimp stick on the Quattros).For a Turbo, from what I know the 200TQ was a reliable automobile. I think biggeet problem was the hydraulic brake boost circuit (had fun with it on my Coupe Quattro, too). However, they are now getting to be 10 years old, so caveat emptor.

Major model change in 92 100

Safety, engine, airbags, climate control, etc. were all drastically changed. The chasis / drivetrain are basically the same, but most of the details are different. There is more headroom, but less shoulder room. The later models are ultimately more reliable. There were only minor changes until the new (99?) A6.Turbo wagons only available in 91 and 95 model years, the latter costing 3 times as much.Todd W
