Missing at Idle Fixed - C02 Adjusted
which exhibited really annoying idle behavior (missing at idle). It almost drove
me to sell the car to be honest. But, I asked the mechanic to adjust
the idle mixture as a last resort. He told me my C02 was way out
of spec and he adjusted the mixture until it was back in specs. I am
happy to report that she idles very smoothly now with no missing.
I cupped the exhaust pipe for a good 30 seconds and found no missing
or let up in pressure. I recall one response to my last posting (I believe
Tom Serrago) who relayed the same behavior. Well, you may want to
get the mixture adjusted. It only cost me 1/2 hour of labor, or $26. It is
worth a shot in my opinion. My car (222,000 miles) now runs smoother than my friend's new Ford Ranger pickup! Bye, Michael.
Otherwise the idle, and overall engine operation has been perfect. My other possibility is the fuel pump starting to go, at 191k miles that original pump is on borrowed time, (still don't buzz loud yet).
Anyway, great to hear you're running smooth.
