O2 sensor replaced. Problems as usual.
After having the O2 sensor replaced my '88 Audi 90 still pings intermittently especially after car is started again after warm-up. The wires and plugs were replaced about 10K miles ago. My mechanic said that the Hydrocarbons fluctuate between low and high and that it could be anything. The problem is that I need the car to pass NJ emissions testing and I don't want to keep spending dollar after dollar on new parts if they're not needed. I also had the fuel system cleaned out and that did nothing either and had the fuel filter replaced. Also, does anyone know what code "52" means when you hold in the console reset button on starting? Any suggestions to cure this dilemma are appreciated.

Again......
....the "52" is NOTHING!! The 5 means your have a 5-cylinder engine and the 2 means the car was programmed for the US!! This is just a means of checking your "auto-check" settings!!!
