Default Oxy Sensor....

Where exactly i can find the Oxygen sensor on Audi 100 ('89-91). It's only one, correct?
Does it have three wires as usual? Are there any adjustments needed after its replacement?

Thanks!

There's only one OXS sensor located on your car. It is located near the back of the Exhaust Manifold where it goes into the downpipe. Should be of the 3 wire variety but you can splice in the universial one wire OXS sensor. After installation of a new OXS sensor you should check the CO% reading. It may need adjusting. HTh

Default ?

I went and i checked on the car and what i found confused me. On the exhaust manifold, just right before it's connected to the dual exhaust pipe, there is something bolted in but there are no wires comming out of it. It is like a small aluminium pipe that comes out of this thing and goes up and at the end it has a blue rubber cap. No wires comming out of the pipe. Is this the Oxy sensor or i'm looking at the wrong place/thing?
I wish i had some way to show you a picture...

Am i looking at the right place at all? Stephen said that it's on the exhaust manifold close to the pipe. That's the only thing i could see but it doesn't look like a sensor to me. Is the Oxy sensor somewhere around this thing or i should look elsewhere?
Also, i found another "sensor looking" part bolted between the exhaust "pipes" comming from the engine. There are three of the pipes on one side and 2 on the other. This thing is bolted right between them. There are wires comming from it but i counted only 2. Also it is connected to a pressure hose(one of these with the metal covering - injector hoses) that comes from the fuel distributor. Can this thing be the Oxy sensor???

Thanks!

No offense, but you may want to just pay someone to change it. If you are unsure what you are undoing, you don't want to damage anything. Not to mention, without the right tools, they can be a real bugger sometimes to get out.

OK, thanks. I never assumed that it would be so difficult and complicated to replace/find an Oxy sensor on this car.
I hoped that with some help from this forum i would be able to save some $$ and do it alone but i guess this would be impossible. I wish i had the factory manual...

Default I'm not saying impossible...

I'm not trying to be smart*ss but, if you are having a tough time now, and something happens when you go to replace it, you may be in a tougher bind. Have a friend who might have done it before help you out. If you live near Austin, I'd always lend a helping hand.

Default Hey Dan, Lets try this again...

I think you've got the Intake manifold confused with the Exhaust manifold. The Exhaust manifold is directly underneath the Intake manifold. It will probably be a little rusty as it is cast iron I believe. Follow it all the way back towards the back of the engine bay and follow it down towards the downpipe. You should be able to see the OXS sensor then. Kinda looks like a small spark plug with wires attached to it...

As far as the "blue capped aluminum pipe" you mentioned that is where you hook up the CO% tester...
