Quick Fuel Filter question

Hi guys!
The fuel filter on my car (Audi 100 '89) hasn't been replaced for the last 35k+ miles. I know i know...that's bad.
I have a brand new filter now made by BOSCH with two new neoprene seals and i'm planning to replace the old filter.
Any tricks that i should use to make this easier? Something to watch out for? There will be gasoline leaking around and i guess it will be messy.
Also, i was wondering if i should do anything to avoid the problem with the air trapped in the system after i put the new filter? Is the car going to have hard time starting the first time?

They have a new guide for the 12v A6's feul filter replacement, it should be simmilar to your car.

It will spray, use a rag.

Job Is Done!!!

Everything went very well and it didn't even spray! The procedure at 12v.com was more than helpful. I parked the car around 3am in the morning and at 10pm i replaced the filter. The pressure wasn't that strong at all, so no problems. Some gas went on the floor but that's OK. After that i tried to "fill" the new filter 3-4 times following the procedure and the car started with no problems. No leaks so far.
