Shift light for a 5 cyl?

Shift light for a 5 cyl?
Due to the small Momo steering wheel on the Coupe, I can't see the top half of the tach, and there's no way to spin it in the housing like older cars due to the circuit board. I'm wondering if there is a way to adapt a shift light like the rice boyz use to compensate for this. They are only advertised as available for 4-6-8 cylinders. How are they triggered?

The 4Ks and 5Ks are 5cyls that came with shift lights. It's a small yellow 'up' arrow in the middle of the inst cluster. Audi parts, Audi look. You could try adapting that to a CGT.
