tire problem...
i've recently noticed the treads on rear tires getting up and down. (i.e. one tread block higher than the ones next to it. So the tire is not wearing evenly.) I asked the mech when he came over to test out the car with the brake fiasco and he said it's the suspension that's messed up. I thought this was a tire balancing problem?
I am getting new tires for the front and swapping the fronts to the back (the fronts are newer) and I don't want the tires to get messed up as well... any ideas?

Alignment, balance, or lack of rotation, or all of the above...
Chunking is usually caused by the lack of rotation and will happen to the tires with less weight on them... usually the rears.
Have your alignment checked also. Once you get your new tires, have them all balanced, make sure your alignment is within spec, and then rotate your tires every 5k if FWD or 5-8k if Quattro.

All the shops say the brakes check out and there's no prob...
except that the ABS isn't working, so I really have no clue right now. I am going to assume it was my fault for not releasing the parking brake totally, since that's the only plausible explanation right now. Thanks for your concern
