Default That wasn't fun at all.

Ordered the OE(all rubber) crankcase vent hose from Blau. Price was $27.95. After shipping, taxes, currency exchange, and duty it came to almost $90 Canadian. I might as well have ordered the metal one from the dealer for $130. Oh well, live and learn.

BTW, didn't notice any difference with the new hose. My top turbo pressure is still only 1.2 bar.

My power door locks no longer work. I have to press them all down manually. When I do this, some pop back up. Is the whole system toast or do I just have a vacuum leak somewhere? My cruise control also does not work. It used to be that when I pressed the cruise button, it would want to engage and I'd feel the gas pedal lock for a second but then it would release. Now it doesn't work at all. How do you access the blue canister in the driver's side fender?

Can you hear the pump working when you lock the doors? Does it shut off after about 30 seconds or run longer than 5 seconds? That would be a sign that you have a vacuum leak.

Or do you hear nothing when you lock your drivers door? Does the passenger side power locks still work? That's a sign of a bad accuator in the drivers door. I was able to fix this in mine by reseting the rubber seal(in about 5 minutes)!!

I just worked on this on my '90 80Q. I'm not sure if a 5000 is the same but I can probably offer some advice as long as it's vacuum accuated!!

As for the vent hose, Why not just visit the local hardware store and get a length of copper tubing, one short neoprene hose, and 2 hose clamps. $30 tops. Fill the tube with sand (to keep it from kinking or breaking), bend it to fit, and your good to go. As for the door locks. If they are coming back up after pressing them down, it means you have good vacuum. If you have been inside any door panels lately, open them back up and check the linkage to make sure it's not binding. If the driver's side door linkage is binding, it may cause the other doors to un-lock as well.

Good Luck

Default No sound from pump.

I don't hear anything when I lock the door. The passenger door handle must have been replaced at some point with no change to the lock so my key doesn't work on it.

Looking forward to your advice.

What do you get if you push down the passenger side lock with the doors closed? That should lock all the doors too!! Do you hear anything then? If not your pump may have gone bye-bye!!!

If you have the Bentley manual it has a great step by step process of how to troubleshoot the power door locks. If you have the manual try that first!!

Let me know!!
