Hello to everyone and yes this is my first post. So why am I here, well today I pick up my new A5 Convertible / Cabriolet. SLine, Manhattan grey, Manual. So I will be jumping ship from mercedes. Just a quick question, is it Convertible / Cabriolet or does it depend on which part of the world you are from that chooses which saying.

It seems like they are largely the same. "Convertible" feels more American. I think Cabriolet originated in France. Out of curiosity, what does the window sticker for the new car say?

FWIW, Audi has always used the fancier term "cabriolet". Adds 10% to the price.

Hard to say weather or not the colour will be a hit as its a new colour but it makes a change from Daytona which has been around for a while now.

Snagitseven is right on. Any foreign term adds 10% to the price.
But you can impress your friends by saying "Oh didn't you know, Cabriolet means convertible".????????

ROSSYH, That is a beautiful car. I just purchased a 2016 A5 Cabriolet Premium Plus - love the French name! Mine is midnight blue. It's my first Audi, so I am really looking forward to better weather here in the Mid-Atlantic to take full advantage!!
