Default Driving Classes Pricing

Hey All,

Been looking up driving classes at the various raceways in the area, and was wondering why there's such a big price difference. I know the Audi GG chapter has some events, but the prices for driving course range from:

Infineon - $1000
Laguna Seca - $1500
Thunderhill - *$235???*
Button Willow - $235???

that's pretty drastic. Anyone know if the level of instruction or quality justifies the cost (of course I know the latter 2 are farther from the SF Bay Area).

Thanks!

Default I didn't know there was that much of a difference, didn't it use to be $375 or something?

I know Infineon and Laguna especially charge much more than THill or Button-swillo for track rental.

I must have been away for quite a while . . .

Default I think the high prices are for pro schools (Jim Russel and Skip Barber)

You can find non-professionally-taught events at Infineon and Laguna for a lot less. Here's one at Laguna for $500

Golden Gate Audi CLub at Laguna Seca

Default And the cheaper ones are where you bring your own car and have volunteer instructors.

Some of whom are darn good. Right, Morgan?

Default Oh!

Oh, that's why the Audi Club ones are so much cheaper ($500 for *3* days). I didn't know it was the difference between pro and non-pro instructors. Thanks for the clarification!

Default Huh?

Audi club events are $495 for Laguna and Sears Point for TWO day courses. SCCA street school at Thunderhill is a ONE day course for $235 now..use to be $150 then $175 when I taught for them. I think NASA runs one day classes at Sears/Thunderhill for about $175 - $195.

Default Many of the volunteer instructors for Audi events also instruct at other driving schools

$495.00 for two days on track at Laguna is a real bargain. Includes on track training, classroom instruction, lunches at the track, dinner, reception, and an event shirt or whatever. Plus networking with other like minded Audi owners and drivers.

Hope to see you at Laguna next month....

Default Re: Huh?

I think it was answered that the more expensive ones are taught by pro instructors whereas the other ones are volunteer ones. Thanks!

I'll be at one of them very soon, but cannot make Laguna because I'm taking a class at Infineon
