Pulled over for tint
NJ... but i havent reg/drivers lic. in this state yet... All that still reads CA
he gave me a 'warning'... could he have actually given me a ticket if im not reg. here yet?

I got a ticket once in FL for over due NJ inspection. I had a FL license at the time. Not sure if
that had anything to do with it. But I will tell you this. You WILL get pulled over a lot with tint. I used to all the time. If you don't drink and drive or anything else and drive 
you might just get a tint ticket but I don't like cops "having a reason" to pull me over and snoop.

I was pulled over in NYS and my car is registered in CT......
My car is 100% compliant with CT Tint Law and the NYS Trooper let me off with a warning saying if he saw me with the tint again he would ticket me.
I was just in town for a job and there is no way I am going to remove my CT compliant tint for NYS.
They just use it as an excuse to pull you over.
They also figure you won't waste the time to fight it in court. (I was 8-hours away from CT)

I got pulled over 5 times in 2 weeks by the same NYPD and finally he said my family badge would.....
not work anymore so I started going a different route to work. :-p
I am sure they can ticket you for it but it would not hold up in court if you were just visiting and your state says it is ok for tint. Now as for EdTheKilla 2.7's statement - if you're driving an out of state car in your own state, you're responsible to have the vehicle to all specs of your state (registration, inspection, tint, tires, ect.). Just like if you had studded snow tires and went for a drive in the winter to a southern state you could be ticketed too because you're not allowed to drive on the roadways down there with studded tires.

*knocks on wood* granted i don't drive during the weekdays much (if at all), but i've got 35% tints and luckily haven't gotten pulled over yet.
(the few weekday mornings would be driving crosstown to manhattan motorcars to drop off for service or something...but luckily never gotten stopped for no tint/no front plate *let's hope it stays that way!)
