Burning Oil
hello, I have a 1985 Audi Coupe GT, she has been tuned up with new spark plugs etc, but it seems she is still burning oil rather rapidly. Do you know what it might be, or what I can check. I am a 24 year old woman who has started to recently take pride in fixing and working on my own car; through information from the internet. I cannot seem to find what would be causing it to burn oil fast, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How many miles on the motor and does it run fine other than the oil burning and how much is it actually burning over say 1000kms/miles?
Do you see any puffs/clouds of blue coming from the tailpipe? If so is it all the time, just on start up or when upshifting?
Odds are you have a tired engine, if it's burning less than a quart/liter of oil per 1000miles/kms live with it and feed the habit until you find another good candidate to transplant.

Probably valve guide seals. It may be too soon in your mechanical career to do those yourself.
Do some more reading about valve guides seals on the internet and search these forums. Also make sure the oil is not just leaking out somewhere that you can't see.
