Default 2002 A6 lurching on acceleration
My A6 has recently started lurching a bit especially when acceleration at low RPM. It seems to be getting worse with time and the dealer was less than helpful when I took it to them; can anybody give me some advice to what should my next steps be? I want to be sure to take care of it if possible before it becomes a major problem.

Which motor?
Have you had it scanned for any fault codes?

It's the 3.0 V6

No I haven't had it scanned, should I take it to the dealer for that or can any decent private shop take care of it?
