I was at the Digitec office the other day checking about their softwarethat claims a 20hp increase. i was shocked at the price 447Euros (US$580)

I also check wiht supersprint they apparently have two levels

1st level (US$600) for a 20HP increase
2ns level further tuning and supersprint exhaust (didnt bother to ask the price) another 10HP increase

Cant the tuning of our A8/S8 be done using software such as VAG? or something else avaialbe on the internet.

What are someof the ways in which we can increase the HP of the A8?

to measure HP increase you ahve to do a baseline dyno run, in yours (and anyone with all wheel drive) you need to find an all wheel dyno) find out what your car is making stock. then modify it

there are programs to tune your car, one is called lemiwinks, i ahve never used it but i believe you can alter timing settings, fuel trim, and maybe a few other things. a chip would probably be the safest way to go though, they did all the tuning for you.

ways to increase hp...
i dont know alot about A8s but maybe somone makes headers for the 4.2 V8? that might free up some upper RPM hp.

id imagine its tiptronic? maybe somone makes a tip chip? it wont add hp but itll make the car faster via faster shifts
the exhaust you mentioned, or maybe a custom system?
you can probably do a nitrous syetem for some now and then fun, on a big V8 liek the 4.2 id imagine you can run atleasta 75 shot of nitrous? itll prob cozt alot to work with the audi engine management, ZEX makes some pretty cool systems that have all the solenoids and electronics in one box and all you do is purge it, arm it and it comes on when you hot wide open throtle.

maybe research if somone makes a super or turbo charger kit? this will cost a TON of money though, another high doallr option is to see if audi sells RS6 engines and see if some crazy shop can make it fit (along with the intercoolers) and somehow fanagle the electronics to work?
that would be 450 hp...over 500 chipped, prob need the tranny too to handle it though....BIG BIG MONEY, but i dont know how serious you are.

some stuff here is prob far fetched but im sure possible, with enough time money and effort.
